Privacy Policy
Your photos stay yours.
Effective June 22, 2026
SpaceUp runs entirely on your phone. We don’t collect your photos, require an account, or track you. The detail below explains exactly how.
On-device processing
All scanning, grouping, and detection happens locally on your device. The machine-learning models that identify similar photos, duplicates, blurry shots, screenshots, and large videos run on your phone. Your images are never uploaded to a server, sent to us, or processed in the cloud.
What SpaceUp accesses
To find clutter, SpaceUp reads the photos and videos in your device’s media library. This access is used solely to display and organise your media inside the app on your device. The app does not copy, transmit, or retain your media outside of your phone.
What we don’t collect
We do not collect your photos or videos, and we do not require a name, email, or account to use SpaceUp. We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not gather it in the first place.
Permissions
SpaceUp requests a single permission: access to your photos and media. This is required for the core function of scanning and organising your gallery. You can review or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Your deletions & 30-day Trash
When you clear items, they move to an on-device Trash and remain recoverable for 30 days before being permanently removed. This happens entirely on your phone — SpaceUp does not keep a copy of deleted items anywhere else.
Children’s privacy
SpaceUp is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the app collects no personal data, it stores none for any user.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, note the change in the app. Our commitment to on-device, no-collection privacy will not change.
